About Us

Urban Dreamer Farm & Vineyard.... started out as a tiny blog, Urban Dreamer, when Adrienne wanted to write her own cookbook (Expected in 2022). After years of compiling recipes of her own and those from close personal friends and family, and putting her creative gears in motion, Adrienne would deconstruct recipes, revitalizing them in her own unique way.  Working as a corporate executive with a Fortune 5 company for 24 years, she found this to be her way of relaxing and to de-stress from the dull and draining corporate world.... and what better way than turning good food and great wine into a hobby and a devoted passion.  Love someone... cook them great food!

Living in the hectic grind of Los Angeles, Adrienne and her growing family had their small urban farm consisting of 10 chickens laying a variety of colored eggs.  She grew a wide range of seasonal produce, which some eventually turned into amazing canned goods. She mostly sold to friends and neighbors and provided that wonderful farm to table freshness that everyone loves to buy. 

But that was not enough!!

Both Adrienne and her husband Steven love to indulge in great wine and the taste of heavenly cooked foods from an assortment of amazing chefs all over. Throughout Adrienne's career, she has lived in 17 different countries.  Most notably her time spent in Italy was as inspiration towards her cooking passion. Steven still needed a little (lot) of culture and learn that not everything had to be covered in ketchup.... amazing steaks should not be cooked to charcoal.  

The two had began to frequently travel to Napa, Sonoma, and other regions, to enjoy earth's blood  from the vino gods and learn new foods. Additionally, the family grew...Steven and Adrienne married June 4, 2010. Steven came to the family with his wonderful daughter Jillian (17, who is by the way an amazing athlete and excels with academics (3.7 gpa). She lives with her mother in Colorado where she spends a lot of time on the slopes, cell phone and hanging with friends. Piper (10) , an enchanted spirit that loves living life to the fullest.  Hadley (8) arrived not long after is a thinker and analyzes everything... everything! Olive (6), the DIVA , blessed the family last. She seems to be going on 15... believing the world revolves around just her.  Although the girls are from a blended family, they all seem to share obvious characters with their blonde hair and deep blue eyes. They are all a true blessing to the family.

Urban Dreamer Farm and Vineyard is a title that simply fit.  Although the Urban part has changed to a charming country settling in Auburn, California, Dreamer, Farm, and Vineyard, is the outline of their future to come.  We always have Dreams and it's rare to actually be able to live them out unless you take a leap of faith and just do it.  The Farm and Vineyard aspect is ever changing, and learning the relentless and ever demanding art of farming is not easy by any means.  Currently living on the farm are 85 great egg laying chickens, 1 Black Angus cow, 2 Belted Galloway heifers, a handsome Scottish Highland/Dexter cross bull (Aka: Red Bull), a bunch of fish, Murphy, a pit/lab rescued dog who believes she is a cow, and a few farm cats working the rodents. 

Still much to do in terms of farming preparation and production.  And there's always something breaking and needing fixing. Time and money is what everyone want, but don't seem to have enough of.  They are learning to use what they have on the farm and from the land...

Some of the future goals look a little like this:

2021:

- Growing our farmstand.

- Irrigation infrastructure. A never ending battle...

- Fence repair and restructuring (deer are the enemy).

- Preparing and planting  citrus / stone fruit orchards.

- Continued planting and maintaining of a variety of produce crops. 

- Vineyard - small lot preparations for sherry. Root stock is growing strong.  

- Complete first draft of 'The Urban Dreamer Cookbook' manuscript
